'EastEnders' Glenda Mitchell

Here's the first look at Ronnie (Samantha Womack) and Roxy's (Rita Simons) estranged mother Glenda Mitchell in EastEnders, played by former Dempsey and Makepeace actress Glynis Barber.

For those who don't know, Glynis was cast in the role after Jill Gascoine stepped aside after only a day's filming.

I don't know about you - and this is no disrespect to Jill as she's a fine actress - but Glynis is the spitting image of her screen daughters!

I thought that Jack and Ronnie go look for her first because there were some photos of Ronnie getting out of Jacks car.

She does look like them, but she must have been very young when she had them lol!

I got the impression that the age gap between Glenda and Ronnie is meant to be bigger than that between Glynis and Sam. No parent would really be jumping for joy if their daughter got pregnant at 14, but if Glenda wasn't much older than that when she had Ronnie, it makes everything Archie did even worse.

We all love Glynis Barber.. I'm currently addicted to Dempsey and Makepeace. Never watched it before I knew she was in it

Yeah, she was one of Archie's 'girls' in his club, so she wasn't that old..
